Carnival
This necklace was created using several wadded up and tangled necklaces. After hours of trying to untangle them I decided to give in and create a single piece of wearable art using all of them. This is the outcome. Some of the chains already had pendants of various colors on them and it reminded me of a carnival so I chose other beads, pendants, and charms that I thought related to the theme. Some of the highlights are the harmonica, which actually makes sound when you blow into it; the tiger eye piece, with a moveable centerpiece that actually moves (it reminds me of a see-saw); the silver button at the top, to which I've added a manufactured ruby; and the royal blue teardrop dangle. Some of these elements are very old: the blue teardrop, carved bone lion, the ruby button at the top, and some of the beads. There are some chains that are 14K gold, sterling silver, and gold-filled. The chain that secures around the neck is about 18" but the dangles are varying lengths and hang down below the breast line.
